CONGESTION MANAGEMENT

“Since work commenced on the Silverlink Junction upgrade we have noted an increase in congestion for northbound customers. This has resulted in tailbacks from the A19/1058 junction which at times have the potential to reach back to the northbound tunnel exit portal. When this occurs it is necessary for TT2 to utilise a series of low-speed rolling road blocks to allow standing traffic queues at the exit to dissipate and prevents traffic in the tunnel coming to a standstill. Although we appreciate that this can be a cause of frustration to our customers  we would like to reassure drivers that these measures are essential  to ensure safe operation of the tunnel. We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this period. TT2 Limited will take every opportunity to work in partnership with Highways England and SiskLagan  to minimise any delays for A19 users.”
