Another Lambtastic Spring Is in Store Down at the Farm!

Down at the Farm
The farm begins its 18th season with many baby lambs, chicks, and rabbits. The team has cared for the ewes ahead of opening in late March.
Visitors will be able to bottle-feed some of the lambs, which is a great help to the farmer and his team. Catherine Weightman, manager, says, “Spring is a very exciting time for us, after a long winter, we are suddenly tending to lots of new life as well as re-opening our doors to visitors, so life is getting very busy! Our goal has always been to give our visitors a great value family day out in the countryside!”
Down at the Farm features alpacas, donkeys, sheep, rabbits, and cows. A local destination since 2007, it offers outdoor play areas, including new ones for 2026.
Visitors can also hop on a tractor ride to see the cows, as well as barrel rides for the children. Animal activities change according to the season, so there’s plenty on offer throughout the year! The farm is a much-loved local attraction where visitors can stay all day to enjoy the facilities.
Down At the Farm, located in Houghton Le Spring, is open weekends and school holidays from Saturday 28th March to 31st October. The farm is also open every day in the Easter holidays, 3rd April – 19th April, with lots of Easter activities.
See opening times on the website. Day and season tickets are available online. Last entry is an hour before closing. Visitors can book online or pay at the admissions desk.
