TT2 Sponsors Tales on the Tyne Trail in Support of St Oswald’s Hospice

Through the Tyne Tunnels Community Fund, TT2 have supported St Oswald’s Hospice with a donation of £6,250 to sponsor their 2026 Tales on the Tyne trail.

Throughout Summer 2026, over 40 giant Peter Rabbit sculptures will be scattered around Newcastle and North Tyneside, for the charities latest edition of their Tales on the Tyne trail. TT2 are proud to have sponsored a sculpture, designed by local artist Emma Winterschladen, which will be located in Northumberland Park, Tynemouth. Smaller-scale sculptures will be donated to schools and community groups, with the actual sculptures going to auction, following the conclusion of the trail, helping to raise further funds for the charity.

This year marks the fourth edition of the Tales on the Tyne trail, celebrating the charity’s 40th birthday as well as Beatrix Potter’s (the creator of Peter Rabbit) 160th anniversary.

St Oswald’s Hospice is a charitable hospice rooted in the North East. The hospice provides outstanding, specialist and expert care to adults and children with life-limiting conditions, and for their families too. This event helps the charity continue to undergo their vital work in the region through donations while bringing a fun Summer activity to the region perfect for families to enjoy.

The Tyne Tunnels Community Fund has previously supported St Oswald’s Hospice in 2024 through donating £18,000 to fund six brand-new rise and recline chairs. As well as this, TT2 employees have dedicated 60 hours of volunteering across 2 volunteering days with the charity.

Find the Tyne Tunnels sponsored sculpture in Northumberland Park from 15th July – 14th September, with a chance to win an exciting prize when you’re there.
