Reduced Emissions

Our contribution to the environment and carbon emissions is of key importance at TT2.

TT2 achieved carbon neutral certification for Scope 1 and 2 UK operations in 2020. The Carbon Trust has certified TT2’s UK to PAS 2060 – the internationally recognised standard for carbon neutrality, setting out requirements for quantification, reduction and offsetting of greenhouse gas emissions from organisations like TT2.

Did you know the transport sector contributes the most to overall greenhouse gases, with approx. 27% being emitted from transport in 2019?

Our Tyne Pass customers will be helping in reducing carbon emissions around the region. With over 50,000 customers travelling through daily, traffic starting and stopping plays a major part in high carbon emissions. With the introduction of Open Road Tolling, not needing to stop will help reduce these emissions, saving over 50,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.

Now let’s learn about what improvements we are making to our service…
